ABOUT
Trained and practiced in architecture and creative carpentry, Jason’s artistic approach to his studio sculpture in metal, wood and mixed media has emerged to blend technical ingenuity with free-form and explores addition and removal through the manipulation of found items, manufactured objects and organic material. His resulting abstract works play in spaces between the vital human body, the natural world and the fantastic, powerful as their certainty in shape and tactility contrasts the elusive quality of subject matter.
Ranging in scale from medium sculpture to large scale and site-specific installation, Jason’s work is often conceived and constructed in his shop in Pittsburgh, within Urban Tree, his company which crafts fine furniture from reclaimed woods of Pennsylvania, and where he develops countless designs in fine furniture and for interior spaces.
